SILKFAIR is in the process of developing an alternate site for the creative artists , craftsters, musicians and video producers to showcase creative products and services.

We will shortly provide a mechanism so that creative indies can be identified in our system, and after that, a special site will be provided for indies-only. Silkfair will remain a general goods site and will include showcasing the products and services of the indie site. Independent artists will benefit by a specially focused site, yet be able to reach a broader audience as Silkfair grows.

We anticipate this to be rolled out in 3 stages, and they are :

stage 1 - implement mechanism within Silkfair for indies to be identified
stage 2 - new indie site rollout - indies identified in Silkfair will be automatically enrolled in the new site.
stage 3 - introduction of new functions for indie to be able to offer services for sale.

It is our vision that we will offer additional category and theme based identities as our product and service offering grows, leveraging a strong commerce engine backbone.
